Jongh, Dead Player, and Man Kong
The exceptions for jongh, dead players, and Man Kong.
Besides the ordinary payment and loser settlement, 3 exception rules apply with major practical consequences.
Jongh
The main rule is:
jongh receives and pays double in settlement.
That therefore applies not only when jongh wins, but also in the mutual settlement between losers. If jongh is part of a comparison between 2 losers, their receipt or payment is doubled.
Dead player
There are 2 settlement cases:
| Situation | Consequence |
|---|---|
Dead player with fewer than 13 active tiles | may still settle with the losers |
Dead player with more than 13 active tiles | counts as 0p and may only pay |
This rule therefore connects to the earlier chapter on dead hands: not every dead player automatically falls completely outside the settlement.
Man Kong
At Man Kong, ordinary loser settlement stops:
- the winner receives according to the maximum outcome
- after that there is no settlement between the losers
Traditional playing style
In the traditional comparison, Man Kong has an even more concrete working:
1000from jongh500from each of the2other players- after that no further settlement between the remaining players
That fixed payment therefore belongs as a traditional variant with the maximum game, not with the modern main rule.
Quick check
- Jongh pays and receives double.
- A player who is too long and dead counts as
0p. - After
Man Kong, the ordinary settlement between losers lapses.
