Kong, Robbery, and Closed Win
The multipliers around kongs, robbery, and a closed win.
A separate traditional group of multipliers revolves around what happens around a kong, especially when the winning tile comes from the flower or kong wall.
Main rule
| Situation | Multiplier |
|---|---|
| Win with the replacement tile after a kong | 1 |
Kong-sjong-kong: with that replacement tile form another kong and then win | Man Kong |
Open robbery: the fourth tile of an open poeng is robbed for a win | 1 |
| Winning tile self-drawn while all other tiles are closed | 1 |
Effect at the table
Around a kong it must always be clear:
- whether the kong is open or closed
- from which wall the replacement tile comes
- whether the next win directly follows from that replacement tile
That prevents discussion between an ordinary 1 multiplier and a route to Man Kong.
Source note
The traditional comparison confirms:
1multiplier for a win as a result of a kong1multiplier for robbing a kong- maximum for a double-kong route
Quick check
- An ordinary win after a kong gives
1multiplier. - A double-kong route can give
Man Kong. - A fully closed hand with a self-drawn win gives
1multiplier.
