Color and Hand Patterns
The multipliers for one-suit hands and special hand patterns.
Some traditional multipliers do not depend on 1 single set, but on the structure of the entire hand.
One-suit hands
Use these color multipliers:
| Situation | Multiplier |
|---|---|
| Winning hand with only numbers, only circles, or only bamboo | 3 |
1 set of own wind, prevailing wind, or dragon and otherwise 1 suit | 2 |
1 or more non-multiplying wind sets and/or such a final pair, plus otherwise 1 suit | 1 |
Final pair of dragon or wind, and otherwise 1 suit | 1 |
The last 3 forms together fall under short color.
Hand patterns
| Situation | Multiplier |
|---|---|
Toei-toei-foei | 1 |
Kang-kang-foei | Man Kong |
Main rule
A hand with only 1 number group gets 3 multipliers. If the matching own flower is also included, that hand rises to Man Kong.
Effect at the table
Color multipliers stack on top of the ordinary points, but they do not replace the hand structure. You therefore still need a valid winning hand with combinations and a final pair.
Source note
The traditional source phrases these color rules directly as part of the standard multiplier table. This page therefore follows that traditional structure as the default route.
